John A. Jacobs, Sr.
John A. Jacobs, Sr. was born and raised in Buckhead NC, and hails from the Waccamaw Siouan Tribe located there. A proud and dedicated serving member of the Tribe, John’s dream has always been to build a construction firm that could provide career opportunities for tribal members who have historically struggled with finding success. As a Native American, John is proud of his heritage and enjoys sharing the history of Native America with everyone he meets.
“My goal has always been to build a company that will provide career opportunities for my people as well as other citizens, a company that can provide quality jobs and benefit the community and their families,” says Jacobs.
John Jacobs founded CMC Building, Inc. in 1988 after leaving a senior project management position at BL Harbert International in order to pursue his endeavors in the construction industry. John’s vision and core competencies are centered on providing quality services to the Southeast regions commercial, industrial and residential markets.
Committed to excellence in everything he does, John has built key relationships over time in order to adapt, diversify and continue to serve his clients at the highest level. John continues to usher in the new age of construction by keeping up to date on the latest technology trends for Estimating, Project Management and Scheduling.
President and CEO
Dan has been the lead project manager at CMC Building since 2010. He participates in and oversees purchasing, submittals, and subcontractor approvals while also conducting meetings with all projects stakeholders such as company representatives, NAVFAC engineers, and NGIS personnel. A conscientious and detail orientated colleague, Dan is one of the main reasons CMC Building is so efficient, productive, and easy to work with.
DOT Division Manager
Before coming to CMC Building, Dale spent eight years as a technician at Corning, a background which gives him an excellent understanding of process controls and instrumentation. During his time at Corning, he implemented numerous process and equipment changes that saved the company time and money, and our team has benefited greatly from his vision and innovation.
Senior Project Manager
As CMC Building’s senior project manager, Bruce ensures that field supervisors are following quality control guidelines and adhering to project schedules, while at the same time managing subcontractors efficiently and effectively. A long time resident of Wilmington, Bruce is also a member of the Structural Engineers Association of NC and the American Institute of Steel Construction.
Industrial Service Manager
Roger is responsible for organizing daily work assignments and ensuring that jobs are completed in accordance with deadlines and policies. He has extensive carpentry experience, can operate heavy machinery with expertise, and is able to troubleshoot issues as they arise. Thanks to a wealth of additional experience in plumbing, electrical work, and preventative maintenance, he’s able and willing to able to help out in other areas as needed.
